I’m very impressed by how portable this system is. I was considering a competing tablet but the touch features on this system have really changed my mind. The whitepaper touch inputs seem to be planned with the right idea. I’m glad to see Fujitsu bringing innovative ways of interacting with tablets.
Fujitsu you get 5 stars for the effort! Now let’s see this baby in the market.

When will this be available? Previous releases said it would be available for pre-order on Oct. 1 in the EMEA area, but it has never materialized. Is this great looking device still on the way?

Hi Jim,
the product will be available from end of November on.

I have a P1620 right now and I would love to replace it with a similar sized convertible tablet. However, as a CS student, I like to have a much faster tablet, as well staying on top with current/future technology.
Does anyone know if the T580 will be upgraded to newer CPUs once Sandy Bridge, Intel’s next gen processors, comes next year? The new IGPU will be twice as fast as the current gen HD graphics, something I would love to have for occasional gaming.

How thick is it at the thickest and thinnest points?
Wednesday, 22. December 2010 um 1:58 pm
Dear jb82,
the front of the T580 is 18.3mm thin, on the back it’s 39.7mm.
Best regards,
Tobias

Thanks for the prompt reply. Is the 39.7mm because the battery sticks out at the bottom? Eg is the middle somewhere around an 25mm thick or is the 39.7mm pretty much the entire thickness?
I just have concerns as that is pretty thick and the pics make it look pretty thick…. but if it is just the battery then this is okay.

Anyone?
Thursday, 30. December 2010 um 12:56 am
Hello… can anyone answer my question?
Saturday, 8. January 2011 um 12:35 am
Well a complete lack of response has lost you a potential sale … now so many ces tablets are looking really good.
Monday, 10. January 2011 um 5:53 pm
Dear jb82,
sorry about the late response.
The height of 39.7mm is on the back side incl. the rubber feet. Towards the front there’s a decline of a few millimeters for most of the device volume, approximately 7 or 8mm.
Best regards,
Tobias
